Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Fileforth (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Fileforth is a native macOS application that lets you transfer files between your Mac and remote servers. Supported protocols include SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV, Amazon S3, and Azure Blob Storage. The App runs entirely on your Mac and connects directly to the endpoints you configure. The App is offered globally through the Mac App Store, in every country where Apple makes the App Store available.

Export controls & sanctions

By using the App you confirm that you are not located in, and not a national or resident of, any country subject to a comprehensive embargo by the European Union, Norway, the United Kingdom, or the United States, and that you are not on any restricted-party list maintained by those jurisdictions. The App contains cryptographic functionality (TLS, SSH, signing for S3/Azure) and is distributed under standard mass-market exemptions; you remain responsible for compliance with any applicable export-control laws in your country.

License

Fileforth is licensed (not sold) to you for personal or business use under the standard Apple licensed application end user license agreement for Mac App Store applications.

Mac App Store Purchases

Any payments and refunds are processed by Apple via the Mac App Store. Refund requests should be directed to Apple Support according to their refund policy.

Important Disclaimer

Fileforth transfers files at your direction. You are responsible for what you transfer and where.

  • The App provides no warranty that any specific server, bucket, or remote endpoint will accept the data, preserve it, or remain available.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and modify any remote location you connect to.
  • You are responsible for backing up data before destructive operations (delete, overwrite, rename) — Fileforth will execute the operations you request.
  • Some providers (e.g. S3) implement operations like rename as copy-then-delete and have eventual consistency. Fileforth executes the underlying operations correctly but cannot guarantee atomicity beyond what the provider offers.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
  • Use the App only against servers and storage accounts you are authorized to access
  • Verify host keys and certificates when prompted, rather than blindly accepting them

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Advisiant AS and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Open-source components are used under their respective licenses.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ADVISIANT AS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App
  • Any data lost or corrupted as a result of transfer or remote operations
  • Any unauthorized access to remote endpoints you configure

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law & Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

If you use the App as a consumer, the choice of Norwegian law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of habitual residence (e.g. Article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) 593/2008 “Rome I” for users in the EEA, statutory consumer rights in the UK, Australia, Canada, the United States and elsewhere). Any rights you have against Apple under the Mac App Store EULA or your local consumer law remain unaffected.
